Dear All,

Does anybody know the journal which will automatically rejects papers that use stepwise regression and similar selection method? I clearly remember reading a paper that mentioned this rejection policy but could not find after spending many hours for search.

Many thanks in advance.

You might find something close to that at the tutorial for
reviewers at
http://www.editorialmanager.com/psymed/default.aspx

It has been several years since I last reviewed for them;
I remember "guidelines" rather than a tutorial. For
relevance: the standards I remember were shared among
a number of journals in psychology, and they were very
hostile to stepwise in its simple implementation, which
pretends that the last variable is important.

I presume that journals these days should distinguish
the simple stepwise from the model that uses massive
cross-validation, as is proper for data-mining. On the
other hand, data of that sort are not common in psychology.
